ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
Each year, Pyrotec awards bursaries to deserving students within the following fields of study:
- Electrical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Finance
- Graphic Design/ DTP
- Psychology
- Marketing
- Human Resources
MORE ABOUT THE Pyrotec Bursary South Africa 2021 – 2022 PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE, SERVICE CONTRACT & SELECTION
The bursary will cover the following expenses: tuition fees, registration fees, accommodation (single room at university hostel), transport allowance and an annual allowance of maximum R10 000 for textbooks.
Once students have graduated, they will be required to work for Pyrotec for an equal duration of their bursary awarded.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within 8 weeks of the application closing date – if you do not receive feedback, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR Pyrotec Bursary South Africa 2021 – 2022
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- South African resident
- Must be an AA (Affirmative Action)/ EE (Employment Equity) candidate
- Completed Matric OR currently in Matric
- Studying or intend on studying in one of the aforementioned fields of study
- Studying or registered to study at a recognized tertiary institution in South Africa

Download and complete the Pyrotec Bursary Application Form (.pdf)
Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):
- Completed Pyrotec Bursary Application Form, as above
- Motivational letter (stating why you should be awarded a bursary) (1 page)
- Matric certificate or proof of highest education level (certified copy)
- ID document (certified copy)
- Proof of address (if applying for a transport allowance)
- University proof of registration/ acceptance letter
- Proof of estimated costs (tuition, textbooks, accommodation)
*Please note: students are required to arrange their documents in the order of the documents listed above, and combine it all into 1 pdf document.
