About Astron Energy

Astron Energy is the second-largest petroleum product supplier in South Africa. The company is a Glencore Group company, which owns and operates the third-largest crude oil refinery in South Africa. Glencore was founded in 1974 and is now one of the world’s top natural resources companies. Established after Glencore acquired the majority share of Chevron South Africa, Astron Energy is currently using Chevron’s petroleum brand name Caltex.

The company has a vast network of 850 service stations under the Caltex brand name, which Aston Energy will soon rebrand under their name. The rebranding has already begun and will be in process until the acquisition is complete in a phased manner. The company is committed to protecting the environment and people. Astron Energy’s commitment is one of the main reasons behind establishing the Astron Energy Bursary for exceptional students in South African colleges.

The Astron Energy Bursary 2022

CareerWise is in charge of administering the Astron Energy Bursary 2022 for Astron Energy. They are responsible for all the critical tasks of scanning, shortlisting and accepting candidates eligible for the bursary.

Bursary Coverage

The Astron Energy Bursary 2022 is a full bursary, which means that it covers the following costs for the selected candidates:

College Registration fee
College Tuition fee
Accommodation costs
The cost of the student’s books
The student’s Meal allowances

CareerWise will contact the shortlisted students. The shortlisted students will be required to attend a panel interview assessment. CareerWise will then make the final selections if all the bursary conditions are satisfied.

Eligibility Criteria For Astron Energy Bursary

The applicants must satisfy the following criteria to be deemed eligible to be awarded the Astron Energy Bursary 2022:

The student who is applying must be a South African Citizen and have a South African barcoded ID.
The student must either be –

Applying to a higher learning South African institution Or enrolled in a higher learning South African institution

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) should recognize the institution to which the student is applying.

The applicant must be able to demonstrate exceptional academic performance.

Students who are majoring in any one of the below fields of education in a South African University are eligible to apply:

Students who satisfy the above requirements may apply for the Astron Energy Bursary 2022 through CareerWise website.

Documents Required

The students who are applying to the Astron Energy Bursary 2022 must have the following documents ready while submitting their application:

A copy of the student’s South African ID proof (certified copy)
Certified copy of academic Results:

Matric Students must submit the following to be considered eligible for the bursary:

A copy of their latest results
A copy of their University Acceptance Letter

Students enrolled in a South African university course belonging to one of the disciplines mentioned above must provide the following documents:

Proof of registration at that particular university
A copy of their latest academic results

Closing Date Of The Astron Energy Bursary

The Astron Energy Bursary 2022 applications close on 31 January 2022. If you fail to apply with all the required documents before the closing date, your bursary application may not be accepted.
